Welcome to Emsworth Car & Cycle Blog

Our customers often comment on the personal service they receive from Emsworth Car & Cycle. So I thought it would be a good idea to act as public “spokes”person for the shop – excuse the pun.

Hi, my name is Rob Sheppard and I’ve been here for about four years. My official title is Shop Manager, but I also answer to Chief Mechanic and Bottle Washer!
I’m often the one who will also answer the emails, handle requests and make sure that jobs get processed smoothly and customers are fully satisfied.

Here at Emsworth Car & Cycle we do anything on a bike from a quick puncture repair to a full rebuild, and many of our customers book a basic service, which incorporates adjusting the gears and brakes and checking all the moving parts. I’ve been interested in cycling for about 25 years and as a teenager became proficient in stripping and rebuilding bikes – largely self-taught and mostly borne out of necessity! I used to ride an old Diamondback but now have my own custom built full sus bike – a Giant Trance Zero frame with RockShox Sid Team forks which weighs 27lbs.

I live and work on the Hampshire/West Sussex boundary which is a great place for off-road cycling and if I had to choose a favourite ride it would probably be around the Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve, a few miles north west of Chichester.

I really enjoy sharing my passion for cycle and speaking to my customers. So if you have a question you would like answered, contact me here at Emsworth Car & Cycle and I’ll try to help you out.
